Common Questions

How do you structure your classes?

Our classes are conducted in an informal environment and are limited to 10 students. All training is hands-on. We teach using an overhead projector connected to the instructor PC that displays on the front wall of the classroom. Using this method of teaching -- you hear the instructions, see them on the wall and are performing the steps at the same time.

Do I need to take the modules in order, for example can I jump to Excel Module V if I don't take modules III & IV?

If you have taken Excel Module I & II, or have the equivalent experience, you can jump to any other Excel module. This is also true for our Microsoft Word classes.

Do you issue CEUs for professional development?

Yes. Upon request, we will issue a certificate stating the number of professional development hours completed. For example, many teachers need to attend computer classes for their teacher certification.

Does Hyslop & Associates offer college credits?

We do not offer college credits. We are licensed by the NH Office of Career School Licensing.  Our ultimate goal is to assist our customers in becoming a stronger computer user.

What are the requirements to pass a class?

We offer non-credit "one-day" workshops.  There is no pass or fail for one day workshops.  100% attendance is the only requirement.  If you enroll in one of our certificate programs, we issue homework and students receive a pass or fail grade.

Where are you located?

We are located at 200 Tilton Road in Tilton, NH (less than a mile east of the McDonalds at Exit 20). We have detailed directions on our website.  Tilton Road is also known as Route 140.

What time are the classes?

All of our classes are one-day workshops from 9:00AM to 4:00PM. We break at 10:30 for coffee, take a one hour lunch around noon and take an afternoon break around 2:30.

Do I need to bring anything?

We provide everything except lunch.

What is the cost of the classes?

6 hour workshops are $200 each. We have a few 3-hour workshops that are $100 each.

How do I register?

You can print the registration form on our website, fill it in and mail it to our office. If you prefer, you can call our office and register over the phone with a major credit card.

When is payment expected?

Payment is expected at the time you register unless you make special arrangements with our staff. Your paid registration confirms your seat in the class.
